Valerian and the City of A Thousand Planets (2017)

Just my two cents worth.  This movie should have been entitled LAURELINE AND THE CITY OF A THOUSAND PLANETS.  Cara Delevingne captivated the different sets of audiences and her(Laureline) personality was(is) more likeable than of Dane DeHaan's depiction of Valerian.

He(Dane DeHaan) is not bad to look at, but the way he was described here was as if he was the handsomest creature in Alpha, the city of a thousand planets. Besides, I couldn't brush the image of Harry Osborn off in my head as the Green Goblin(that really looks like a goblin in prosthetics). He did fine, but I could imagine other actors for the role.  Thank goodness he has youthful physiognomy.

If there's another person or different specie that wowed everyone, it's got to be Rihanna. She's very, very graceful and she did a great job depicting Bubble.

Clive Owen was not an effective villain here.  I know he has played some anti-hero and villains convincingly, but here...he's still a good actor, but some of us thought he should've exchanged roles with the General(Sam Spruell, who did a good job, but I think he would have made justice to Mr. Owen's role, Commander Arün Filitt.

The cameos were great too(including Ethan Hawke's) and so were the voice actors.

The special effects were good, but I can't believe someone compared this movie to Wonder Woman.

My nephew said Star Wars was based on, rather, inspired by, the French Comic Book series. He told me some trivia about this and that.

All in all, it was pretty exciting(even if there were dragging parts) plus I like that the inhabitants of the planet Mul gave back to nature and were all peace loving.

Oh, and I don't think it would be a phenomenal blockbuster hit, but it definitely is worth watching.
