Dad said, after watching this film, that during the time of the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the survivors were never the same again.  To witness such monstrosities would definitely leave very deep scars. What more for our present day survivors and "witnesses" seeing LIVE or at the moment blow-by-blow accounts of what was happening.  Having to witness such atrocities could put witness/witnesses life/lives in danger.

My thoughts were: "How come I missed this film?" "Where was I?" "It's a box office hit and it has a good story...how in the world..."

I really don't have any idea how I was able to miss this.  This movie has Aaron Paul, Alan Rickman and Helen Mirren, for heaven's sake.

This was Mr. Rickman's last screen performance, so this is a very important film.  Maybe I "heard about it" or something...oh well.

The scenes are pretty exciting. The acting is very convincing. The situations are very scary.

Kudos to everyone involved in this film.  There are some bashers, but they are just a speck in the middle of the ocean.
