Cultural Center of the Philippines presents EMIR- Musical (2010)
Release date: 9 June 2010 (Philippines)
EMIR is an epic film about our unsung heroes, our OFWs, and in this case it focuses on Amelia and everyone around her who serve in the house of the Royal Palace of the Sheikh who does not have an heir, but when finally he does, Amelia becomes the baby boy's nanny.
Even if this is a musical you can feel every emotion experienced by every cast. I am very happy that this movie appreciated abroad. I just hope that Filipinos would appreciate it as well.
The realities of life are presented here and it is explained why some of our countrymen from the North went to the Middle East to serve strangers and take care of children not their own. Some relatives are appreciate and invest the hard earned money. Others invent emergencies and tragedies so the money goes down the drain. #realitybites
The kids get attached to them and have them in their hearts. I understand this very well because I was attached to my nanny and she was or still is attached to me. She even named her daughter Lara.
It is also shown that not all Filipinos get along. There are lots of intrigues due to envy inside the palace, but once they get past all that, they all become like family.

The actors chosen are of international caliber. Besides being immersed in their roles, they sing and dance well too.
Sigh. Even the baby acts well!

Cultural diversities are shown. The royal chamber maids and nannies were also given the chance to travel as the royal entourage around the world starting with London. There are love stories in between too as well as the war that affects everyone. #nailbiting
Sigh, I still have a hangover. May more people watch, appreciate and love the film. I assure you, it's not a waste of time.
