THE VOYAGE OF THE BALANGAY's book launching 
was held at the Sergio Osmena Hall, National Library, Padre Burgos Avenue, Ermita, Manila
March 5, 2015
4:00-6:00pm

It was attended by Executive Secretary, Paquito "Jojo" Ochoa, CamSur Representative Leni Gerona- Robredo, Oscar M. Lopez, foreign dignitaries, Ms. Teresita Ang See, Ms. Laurice Guillen, Mr. Leo Tavarro Valdez, among others.  

The coffee table book is now available at major bookstores.

Art is the leader of the First Philippine Mount Everest Expedition, a former President of The Mountaineering Federation of the Philippines, a veteran mountaineer and a marathoner. Art is also a former Undersecretary of the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC). It was in 2007, when Art successfully realized the epic story of the successful ascent of Mt. Everest by two Filipino groups: one by climbers Oracion and Emata (both male) and Belarmino-Sardena, Wenceslao and Dayondon (an all female team)-  From the official website



We are honored to have been photographed by Mr. Kevin Hamdorf(a note to his fans: Mr. Hamdorf used my Samsung Galaxy Note and not his SLR).  With me are my mom and Mr. Leo T. Valdez.  Mr Valdez, besides being Mr. Art Valdez's brother, is an award winning singer.  He is also a very great actor.  Some of the roles he portrayed are: 1) The Engineer, MS. SAIGON ; 2) Jean Valjean, LES MISERABLES and 3)Tick/Mitzi, PRISCILLA, QUEEN OF THE DESERT among others.  


Mom was tickled pink when she was able to have a photograph taken with Ms. Laurice Guillen.  She is an award winning director for Film and Television, Screenwriter and Actress.

Barbie and Her "Kens" (A Dollywood Title) #TeamYuan #KenBie My bubble was burst when the last scene after the credits was shown.  JEYA (Jai, Ethan, Yuan and Andoy) just woke up from a heavy night and they were wondering what happened then in big bold letters this was shown on the TV screen:  Ano nga ba? SOON! Ngarks. I was already very happy that BARBIE (Forteza as Billie Bendiola) and KEN (Chan as Yuan Lee or Lee Yuan) ended up together.  I even shouted it out via FB(viewed by Friends of Friends) then as I was enjoying the after credits scenes, the very last one was that messy pool scene. Everything was just a dream! Come on! I know it's fiction, but to play with our emotions like that?  That is such BS. How do I describe this movie without giving spoilers?  Hmm.  Let me think.  Ah, I think I know how.  Directed by Gino M. Santos Written by Jeff Stelton and Keiko Aquino Loosely based on or inspired by the  Wattpad   sensation by  youramnesiagirl  of the same title, is a story of finding your self worth and about living.  It's also about relationships not of the romantic kind and about responsibility.  This movie is NOT all about sex.  There's more to it than that .  It also doesn't stereotype med reps and doctors. Things like these  happen whatever profession or non-profession you are in, and even if there are people like that  in real life, we must believe that there are more people who live life with integrity(listen to Carmi Martin's lines somewhere in the movie), so please don't be scared to watch this. This movie is about loving, losing, sacrificing, being selfless et cetera, et cetera .  It's about many things, and sex is just a part
