I am NOT a critic. I'm merely an observer. (Books, movies, plays, musicals etc.)

(source) Che bella! A certified blockbuster/box office hit It's true.  I am one of those who love the AlDub tandem, though I must say that I'm a late bloomer.  I didn't jump the bandwagon all at once.  It took time for me to appreciate these two young artists as a pair, but they "grew on me". Even if I love them, I was so out of the loop for the longest time that when one of my closest friends invited me and another of my closest friends to watch #IYAM, I never imagined I would like it so much...that WE would like is so much. The quality of the film is of International Caliber.  Only a portion of the film was shot in the Philippines, but even if almost the whole movie was set in Italy, the story captures the hearts of Global Filipinos anywhere in the world(yes, it seems redundant, but...). Judging from the posts of my other friends, every cinema was jam-packed.  It was not the case at the Director's Club Cinema 1, SM BF, so I hope thi...

From imdb This is the movie that gave the first acting recognition at the Cannes Film Festival(a.k.a Festival de Cannes/The International Film Festival) to Ms. Jaclyn Jose, one of the best in our Local Film Industry. Of course, we wanted to see what made "them" recognize her. So this is my two cents worth:  Ms. Jose's famous underacting  is really laudable and it proves that she is really a multifaceted person.  Still, I must say that she has played many other roles of international caliber, meaning, even better than how she acted in Ma' Rosa. Ms. Jaclyn Jose and her co-stars are brilliant.  The story? It's the harsh reality happening in the poverty stricken society, but it could have been...I will let the " critics " do the talking .  I just have a few comments: *Non-commercial? I get that this is not the type of film people would make a box office success(no love teams or whatever else that would brand this as "commercial"), bu...

It's been nearly a decade since Tarzan (Alexander Skarsgård), also known as John Clayton III, left Africa to live in Victorian England with his wife Jane. Danger lurks on the horizon as Leon Rom (Christoph Waltz), a treacherous envoy for King Leopold, devises a scheme that lures the couple to the Congo. Rom plans to capture Tarzan and deliver him to an old enemy in exchange for diamonds. When Jane becomes a pawn in his devious plot, Tarzan must return to the jungle to save the woman he loves. Initial release: July 1, 2016 (USA) Director: David Yates Distributed by: Warner Bros. Music composed by: Rupert Gregson-Williams Story by: Edgar Rice Burroughs , Craig Brewer  and Adam Cozad ( source ) There goes my double standard(s) again.  I hate being objectified...In my defense, I am just admiring the guy.  I am not objectifying him. (Excuses, excuses!) Critics may have little to nothing good to say about this film, but hey, Alexander Skarsgård is so hot an...

5 Reasons Why ‘Central Intelligence’ Might Blow Past Expectations  (my favorite review about the movie)   ( source) Bullied as a teen for being overweight, Bob Stone (Dwayne Johnson) shows up to his high school reunion looking fit and muscular. While there, he finds Calvin Joyner (Kevin Hart), a fast-talking accountant who misses his glory days as a popular athlete. Stone is now a lethal CIA agent who needs Calvin's number skills to help him save the compromised U.S. spy satellite system. Together, the former classmates encounter shootouts, espionage and double-crosses while trying to prevent worldwide chaos.  -WWW  (well, all I can say it didn't happen exactly the way the WWW described, but close to it--LMV) Initial release: June 17, 2016 (USA) Director: Rawson Marshall Thurber Executive producer: Ed Helms Screenplay: Rawson Marshall Thurber, Ike Barinholtz , David Stassen , Peter Steinfeld The trailer was very funny and we've wanted to ...

Dory (Ellen DeGeneres) is a wide-eyed, blue tang fish who suffers from memory loss every 10 seconds or so. The one thing she can remember is that she somehow became separated from her parents as a child. With help from her friends Nemo and Marlin, Dory embarks on an epic adventure to find them. Her  journey brings her to the Marine Life Institute, a conservatory that houses diverse ocean species. Dory now knows that her family reunion will only happen if she can save mom and dad from captivity.-WWW I can't believe it!  FINDING DORY outdid the blockbuster hit, FINDING NEMO .  My friends, the young and not so young alike, were raving about it.  Others were crying buckets of tears, while others simply had some emotional moments.  Definitely, heartstrings were pulled, but there were a lot of light moments too that I decided to see for myself. True, many think that Finding Nemo will remain a classic and cannot be topped, but Finding Dory could be a classi...

Alan Turing , the Inventor of what we call nowadays as COMPUTERS; He was a mathematical genius who was prejudged because he was a homosexual and was given hormonal therapy to "cure" his being a homosexual.  Since the therapy was not doing him any good, he committed suicide in 1954. Tsk, tsk, tsk!  Imagine, he broke the German Enigma Ciphers/Cyphers, but he was sentenced because of indecency.   Where is the justice in that? I agree with Benedict Cumberbatch. He should be in banknotes! Learn more about this phenomenal precursor of artificial intelligence by clicking the link, reading this book , or watching THE IMITATION GAME(2014) .  Instead of condemning him, we should thank him, right? Right!!!!! THE IMITATION GAME (2014) ( SOURCE ) Almost speechless. Great acting. Great direction. Great cast. Great everything! Heartbreaking...Hopeful...Awesome. As much as possible, I don't want to give spoilers, even if the movie is just an adaptation or something, but I can't promise that now.  Hopefully, I would be able to avoid giving some, but if I get carried away and give some spoilers, please forgive me. Louisa "Lou" Clark is a breath of fresh air.  She is so easy to like, except that she is not really too bright...at least, that was what people thought about her. I liked her character in an instant and was thanking Kate Dowd silently for choosing Emilia Clarke to play her.  The role is tailor-made for Emilia. Sam Claflin, pardon my language, made ...
