Black Panther (2018)

BLACK PANTHER
What's so great about Panther is he's a superhero who, if you grab him and ask him if he's a superhero, he'll tell you, 'No.' He sees himself as a politician, as a leader in his country. It just so happens that the country is a warrior-based nation where the leaders have to be warriors, as well, so sometimes he has to go fight. Ryan Coogler, director of Black Panther[Wikipedia]

BLACK PANTHER(film) 2018
After the death of his father, T'Challa returns home to the African nation of Wakanda to take his rightful place as king. When a powerful enemy suddenly reappears, T'Challa's mettle as king -- and as Black Panther -- gets tested when he's drawn into a conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk. Faced with treachery and danger, the young king must rally his allies and release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people.-WWW
Director: Ryan Coogler
Screenplay: Ryan Coogler, Jack Kirby, Joe Robert Cole
Starring: Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, with Angela Bassett,  Forest Whitaker, Florence Kasumba and Andy Serkis.

Observing is different from criticizing, although with some similarities, but I have no criticisms for the movie at all. The story's timeline is somewhere after CAPTAIN AMERICA:Civil War where a new Wakandan King is hailed, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Thor Ragnarok.

In my opinion there is no dead air and all emotions were tackled in this movie presented by the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Former child and teen actor Michael B. Jordan is antagonist Erik Killmonger here and a lot of girls were kind of wondering why he didn't become the Black Panther, but hey, he did his job well.  Some even sympathized with Erik because of how MBJ portrayed him and felt his agony, but of course, even if his cause is noble, his training or trainings on how to achieve his mission might have clouded his thoughts. Besides, Chadwick Boseman is one of the best Black Panthers ever.

Ulysses Klaw or Ulysses Klaue or simply Klaw, as played by Andy Serkis is back, and so is Agent Everett K. Ross, as played by Martin Freeman.  They are both playing vital parts in the story.  Agent Ross is very endearing and I cannot wait to see what he would contribute to Avengers: INFINITY WAR.

My favorite character is Shuri as played by Letitia Wright.  She's what every princess should be.  Ms. Wright made her character very, very believable and lovable too.  I heard little girls with their parents say, "I wanna be like Shuri!" "Me too!" Shuri is one proof that sugar and spice and everything nice are not the only things (little) girls are made of.

#ShuriKicksAss

My second favorite character is Okoye as played by Danai Gurira.  #WakandaForever  She is the Wakandan General that breaks all stereotypes. If she wants to, she could also be beautiful and loving.

#OkoyeIsTops

Tying for second place in my book is Nakia as portrayed by the lovely Lupita Nyong'o.  Her character may not be as strong as Okoye's character, but her drive to help the plight of the poor African people all over the world, especially in the White dominated countries, might be similar to Erik Killmonger's cause, but hers does not stem for hate for Wakanda, for the love.

#WakandaIsLove

There are many beloved characters or characters that you would grow to love here, including the rhino, so I won't describe everyone here lest I bore you to death.

All I can say is that this movie is revolutionary and is worth watching again and again and again.

Side Story:
When I was still living in the States and although I watched ROOTS by Alex Haley,  I never experienced discrimination, even when my classmates asked if I were Chinese(for them all chinky-eyed people are Chinese...at least during that time), but when I started studying in the Philippines, although I had a fairly good childhood with lots of fun memories, there were those people who called me, "Negra!  Negra!" Even in High School during Freshman year, someone called me "Negra!" Thankfully, that person from High School evolved to be a very thoughtful person and a lot of people look up to her now.
Well, this really baffled me back then.  I've always known there were a lot of fair skinned Filipinos, but the majority of Filipinos are from the Malay race and my goodness, we may not be African-American, but we are definitely NOT white, so why do Filipinos look down on people who have darker skin? This was even way before whitening soaps were invented. I think these types of soaps were invented to even the skin or to bring back your original skin color after you basked in the sun and you got tired of your tan or something and not to really turn white, per se.
Lately little by little people look at Africans and African Americans or people hailing from Africa that spread all over the world with respect.  The classics and other white dominated movies now have African-American versions, like ANNIE(describing the movie, I think, made me sound like a racist...I hope not) and so many others.
This year's A WRINKLE IN TIME became interracial.  Even my favorite characters Phillip and Annie in the THE GREATEST SHOWMAN were inserted, so to speak, for interracial love, that was shunned during time.  Still shunned nowadays, but...
Anyways, as researchers found out, the cradle of civilization is in Africa and there are many artefacts/relics that were dug up in Central Egypt and other places.  Some say that the aberrations before were the pale skinned people.
So it's really a mater of perspective.
KUDOS TO THE CAST, CREW AND EVERYONE ELSE INVOLVED IN THIS FILM.
I can't wait for Black Panther 2.  :-)
