Except for the 1960's Batman style exaggerated dialogue when they are about to kill each other(they really mean for it to be that way...to reiterate, they do it on purpose), the story is actually a good one for prime time, but if I were to choose a time slot, I would put it around 9:30 PM, when the younger kids are sound asleep.

It's not enough to put SPG(Strong/Strict Parental Guidance) because a lot of scenes are really traumatising and the truth of the matter is, whether a young kid has a television or not, he or she would have access to it if a neighbour is watching it or something.  In broad daylight, especially this week, the central character, Lily Cruz, is being flogged in the plaza a la JESUS CHRIST.  Many episodes before that, there were a lot of torture scenes.

Yes, it is shown before TV Patrol where several traumatising stories are also being shown, but...

Nowadays, nothing is really surprising anymore, but can't we protect the innocent?

Anyways, my complaints notwithstanding, this series is well acted, even if there are lots of scenes that are improbable, or shot in TV ad style(like they are selling something and the audience would really buy whatever that is even if the scenes couldn't happen in real life, unless there is a parallel universe or something), there are many realistic situations, like the political scenes.  Dad, who was hooked with this series before all of us(we were watching a variety game show or something else if we were at home), think everything is unrealistic, but I beg to differ.  Somewhere out there, there are people who abuse power, but there are those who stay on, for the sake of the greater good.

He says the sartorial elegance, which he admires, of the characters is a bit too much for something provincial, but I also beg to differ.  The rich and powerful are  well-traveled, they read a lot of fashion magazines and they watch television/movies.

Vin Abrenica and Joseph Marco blossomed as actors, for lack of a better term, and Roxanne Barcelo is a great revelation here.

Of course, Tirso Cruz III, the very versatile thespian, stands out, and the bold and the beautiful younger than me gorgeous actresses Aiko Melendez and Sunshine Cruz do their "jobs" well.

You cannot discount the presence of Yen Santos, Ana Abad Santos, Malou De Guzman and all the other supporting characters.

Zsa Zsa Padilla was perfect as the Red Dragon.

I just hope RK Bagatsing does not get type cast because he too is as versatile as his brother, Raymond, and Tirso Cruz III.

Wendell Ramos is ageless in this series and so is the indefatigable Christian Vasquez.

I cannot mention everyone.

More than a week is too long and it's an agony.  I just want it to end as soon as possible(the flogging).  It's not only Lily Cruz who is being tortured.  The audience is being flogged as well.

Dad said the reason for the extension of Wildflower is because of the many sponsors of this high-rating series and because an episode is too short to fit all those ads that have been paid in advance, they have to extend the program a bit.

Maybe he's right.  He probably is.

I'm sure next week would be pretty exciting.  It should be.

Here's to more projects for ALL of you.

Cheers!
