Love You to the Stars and Back (PG) 2017 #LYTTSAB #LYSB

From Wikipedia:  Feeling out place in her own home, an eccentric and socially awkward girl, Mika (Julia Barretto), decides to go on a road trip with a very strange goal – to look for aliens. In her trip, Mika accidentally bumps into a simple and good-humored boy, Caloy (Joshua Garcia), whom she chooses to give a free ride to until he reaches his destination. Mika is surprised to know that Caloy has cancer. But despite his condition, he has learned to accept his fate and remained positive and joyful.
The two embark on a roadtrip filled with adventures and misadventures, not knowing that it will lead them to experiencing their most memorable romance at such a young age. They unexpectedly teach each other an important lesson on love and life – one that takes most people a lifetime to learn.

Love You To The Stars and Back Theatrical Release Poster

It is really best to watch something with (sort of) a clean slate.  When one of my friends were reading to us the movie roster at Alabang Town Center, when she read, "LOVE YOU TO THE STARS AND BACK", I like that(thinking it was an anime type of film like A SILENT VOICE)!  She was shocked that I wanted to watch a Julia Barretto film.  Our other friend said, "Wala na bang iba?"(Don't we have any other choice?)  She wanted to watch I WOKE UP LIKE THIS,  that is, if we were watching a Filipino film anyway, but it was not playing at ATC.

"What do you mean a Julia Barretto film?""I thought you said you like it?  How come you don't know it's a Julia Barretto film?""I read the synopsis somewhere and judging by the poster(using my mobile phone) I thought it was anime, but I don't mind...I don't like to watch(a horror flick)."
We ate lunch first then after careful thought, we bought our #LYSB tickets then saw all those teenagers excitedly falling in line to watch their idols.

These teenagers were well behaved, but they did express their glee or cheap thrills when there were sweet moments between the two young actors.

We were quite surprised that they have a great supporting team of actors: Cherry Pie Picache, Edgar Allan Guzman, Eda Nolan, Jelson Bay, Ruby Ruiz, Belle Mariano, Joaquin Reyes, Odette Khan, Carmina Villarroel, Ariel Rivera, Maricar Reyes among others.

The two young stars have great chemistry and are both naturals.  The only unnatural acting that they did was when they were on top of Mt. Milagros and they didn't seem to be tired at all, especially Julia.  Otherwise, the acting was...is seamless.  Even baby GOLDIE is very convincing here.

Antoinette Jadaone, you did it again!  Congratulations to you, the whole cast, the whole crew and everyone else involved in this film.
