Cast from Wikipedia:
Wow. I don't know if people would agree with me, most especially the critics, but this is a story of a beautiful friendship and the determination of a person who once had the devil-may-care way of living to fight for his students he did not even give a damn to.
The story and screenplay was written by the star of the film and Allan Loeb. Thankfully, it was not that predictable. Still, it could've been better with different twists and turns, but for me it was still enjoyable.
Was this ever shown in the Philippines? Yes. Last 8 January 2013, but I did not know about it. All I knew was that our dear Charice is very much a part of this film and she did well.

Movie Info from Rotten Tomatoes:
In the comedy Here Comes the Boom, former collegiate wrestler Scott Voss (Kevin James) is a 42-year-old apathetic biology teacher in a failing high school. When cutbacks threaten to cancel the music program and lay off its teacher (Henry Winkler) Scott begins to raise money by moonlighting as a mixed martial arts fighter. Everyone thinks Scott is crazy - most of all the school nurse, Bella (Salma Hayek) - but in his quest, Scott gains something he never expected as he becomes a sensation that rallies the entire school. -- (C) Official Site
