Victoria & Abdul (PG) 2017
Initial release: 15 September 2017 (United Kingdom)
Based on real events...mostly(there are some goofs and some cinematic effects, but yes, the story is based on the journals of Queen Victoria in Urdu and the journals of the Munshi found in Karachi in 2010)
I hope a lot of people would be able to watch this very inspiring film.
Edward the VII hated his mother's Munshi or teacher of Urdu and burned everything that connected his mother to him...so he thought. He did not destroy the Hindustani manuscripts and others that would prove his existence. In 2010, his journals were found, but earlier than that, someone got interested when she saw paintings of him in the Osborne House in the Isle of Wight while researching about curries and Queen Victoria's love for curry. All I can say is that it is well acted. There are mixed reviews, but I like it. My parents like it too. It's presented by BBC Films among others.
