The Foreigner (2017) R-13

Quan is a humble London businessman whose long-buried past erupts in a revenge-fueled vendetta when the only person left for him to love -- his teenage daughter -- dies in a senseless act of politically motivated terrorism. His relentless search to find the terrorists leads to a cat-and-mouse conflict with a British government official whose own past may hold the clues to the identities of the elusive killers.-WWW

The story is definitely not new, but it is very real.  Terrorism is very, very real.  This time it stems from paramilitary operations where Mr. James Hennessy(Pierce Brosnan)was very much a part of and not the recent usual suspects.

Chan and Brosnan are very believable.  Chan's fight scenes are very exciting, especially when he was fighting the "tracker" and nephew of Hennessy(Rory Fleck-Byrne as Sean).  He is the fierce "China Man" here and not the funny man.  He is also the very angry version of MacGyver. You would be very angry if everything and everyone you love has been taken  away from you.

Brosnan sounds Irish...well, he is Irish in real life anyway.  He is a dignified A-hole here in different degrees and he played it like he was born to be Liam Hennessy.

I like the whole ensemble, including Katie Leung(Fan, Quan Ngoc Minh's daughter, his treasure), Charlie Murphy(Maggie/Sara McKay), Rufus Jones(Ian Wood---his role is very vital here---he's the one who called Jackie Chan's character CHINA MAN when he took his photograph---and towards the end) and Orla Brady(Mary, Hennessy's wife).
