Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice(PARENTS should really guide kids so that they won't dream bad things)

SOME NOTES BEFORE I WRITE MY BLOG ENTRY Spoilers are all over the World Wide Web...even our Parish Priest gave spoilers during his homily last Easter Vigil, so if it's spoilers you want, you won't get it "here"(but there are links that you can click ), but I can say this, there are no teasers after the credits.  If you want to memorize stuff for trivial pursuit or something, you can Google them anyway, but it's up to you. PARENTAL GUIDANCE AT ITS FINEST A young dad with his two young sons sat beside us.  When he thought there was ample time, he got his boys some popcorn.  The older one watched the younger one and when there were scary trailers, he would comfort the younger one, even if he was seemingly scared himself.  I was concentrating on the movie, of course, but I was a bit worried about the two boys, but since I was a stranger to them, I did not dare try to comfort them.  I didn't have to, because when t he movie started and their dad was ...

MIRACLES FROM HEAVEN(2015):A tearjerker that will give you(well, not all) hope and strengthen your faith

Jennifer Garner says “Miracles from Heaven” led her back to church Ben Affleck & Jennifer Garner Call Off Divorce: Attending The Oscars Together? It took me a while before finally writing this blog entry.  I couldn't start.  Yes, some parts may have been fictionalized for cinematic purposes, but the story is real as real can be.  This movie, based on true events, proves that truth is really stranger than fiction.  Doctors and other people have testified that this story is real and it's not because some people are just trying to be famous.  Anna did suffer and experience different kinds of miracles, including the kindness of other people, strangers at that. After watching this film I couldn't stop crying.  Mostly, because of tears of joy, but it was also because I could empathize and sympathize with the plight of the Beam family. No matter how strong one's faith is, there will be times when he or she could question that faith.  There may ...

Les Misérables- Manila (The Theatre at Solaire)

Catch it until May 1 One of the best renditions ever Victor Hugo's book was required reading when I was still in high school.  It was hard to fight the tears because of the misery everyone suffered, most especially Monsieur Jean Valjean. I have seen several versions of this classic story: Straight plays, musicals(including the Broadway version, and the Repertory Philippines production) and movies(my favourite movie is the Hugh Jackman version).  I even watched a couple of French versions(A musical with original French lyrics , and a movie that's not a musical without subtitles).   Every version is beautiful in their own right, and every time I watch it, I pretend that it's the first time and I always get excited. When I learned that this (as described by Ticket World) musical phenomenon would be staged at The Theatre at Solaire, I was so excited.  I wanted to watch it with a special someone, but how could I refuse my dad when he said that it w...

The Divergent Series: Allegiant

Image
In support for Manresa 1987's Stand Up For Life (Taken during our pre movie dinner at Santouka Hokkaido Ramen, ATC) Tris must escape with Four and go beyond the wall enclosing Chicago. For the first time ever, they will leave the only city and family they have ever known in order to find a peaceful solution for their embroiled city. Once outside, old discoveries are quickly rendered meaningless with the revelation of shocking new truths. Tris and Four must quickly decide who they can trust as a ruthless battle ignites beyond the walls of Chicago which threatens all of humanity. In order to survive, Tris will be forced to make impossible choices about courage, allegiance, sacrifice and love . -WWW I'm a Veronica Roth fan and I am currently reading the life of FOUR before he met Tris so I was really into the Divergent series.  I could relate to every battle(internal and external) and I could empathize and/or sympathize with every character and situation. Not all the cri...

London Has Fallen (R-13)

I call the past couple of weeks a GERARD BUTLER FESTIVAL because a couple of his movies are playing in cinemas all over. After the death of the British prime minister, the world's most powerful leaders gather in London to pay their respects. Without warning, terrorists unleash a devastating attack that leaves the city in chaos and ruins. Secret Service agent Mike Banning (Gerard Butler) springs into action to bring U.S. President Benjamin Asher (Aaron Eckhart) to safety. When Asher falls into the hands of the sinister organization, it's up to Banning to save his commander in chief from a horrible fate.- WWW Another movie that would take you to the edge of your seat.   This second installment is definitely more nail-biting, thrilling and all those other similar terms that describe an exciting movie.  If you "hate" the US of A and think that as a people they are arrogant, then don't watch this, because you would hate them even more, but if you don't ...
