I am NOT a critic. I'm merely an observer. (Books, movies, plays, musicals etc.)

And I Love You So is a 2009 Philippine romantic fantasy drama film produced by Star Cinema, starring Bea Alonzo, Sam Milby and Derek Ramsay. This film reunites Alonzo and Milby; the previous being Close to You (2006). The film is directed by Laurenti Dyogi, and celebrates the 16th year of Star Cinema films. The film describes the feeling of forbidden love for another person when that love may not be forbidden at all.- Wikipedia   A Story about LOVE, LOSS, and LETTING GO.   I recommend this movie to people who could not accept the loss of their loved ones; to persons who cannot let go of the ones they love; to people who are unhealthily attached to people and things that remind them of those people; to people who need to move on, but can't; to EVERYONE. (source) It was a dream come true. LOL  Sam Milby was calling MY name.  He was shouting it while chasing...well, not me, but Bea Alonzo's character, Lara Cruz.  It was music to my ...

Calling this a review would be a misnomer. This entry is more of what I felt when I was watching the film and afterward. Baler used to be a part of Quezon Province (of course it wasn't called  Quezon then, but the Province of Tayabas) where my dad of Armenian, Spanish, Japanese and Indian ancestry, hails from. Aurora now is another province. Nevertheless, because of its history and linkage of the people the two provinces were named after, it will forever be a "part" of Quezon. Having seen the posters last year, I became very interested in watching the film. I wondered why Anne Curtis was chosen as Feliza and Jericho was cast as Celso. Anne Curtis looked more mestiza than Jericho,  et cetera, et cetera . According to  film_angel , "The main purpose was to highlight the innate kindness and hospitality of the Baler folks. The filmmakers erred when they veered away from that objective." Even so, the movie achieved dramatic effect and Ro...

Web Banner from http://concertothefilm.blogspot.com Wow! That's what I said after watching this film. Joselito, the central character and narrator played by Jay Aquitania , learned Japanese by heart. During the last leg of the Japanese occupation, he was able to use it to protect his family. I love studying different languages. I know I need to concentrate on one language to perfect it and so far, I only know bits and pieces of different languages. Communication is an important factor and that is not only true for one country. It's a fact throughout the world. Music is also one form of communication that needs no translation and besides food, the Dela Torre family used music to warm the hearts of "the enemy". Having had my "formative years" in the USA, I grew up thinking that Japan (and to think I have Japanese blood) was evil to the core in the 1940s. Well, it is true, they did all those war crimes that haunted and annihilated our ancestors, but li...
