A debacle with myself is what I am having.  Should I publish this is the vernacular or should I just publish this in English? I'll just let my thoughts flow.  If I think of something in the vernacular, then I would just inject it. When I was a little girl I wondered why we weren't just annexed to the US of A because a lot of my countrymen were dying to get a US Visa anyway.   My formative years were spent in the USA and I memorized "I Pledge Allegiance to the Flag..." first before I learned about the " Panatang Makabayan " so I was one of those who were complaining why we didn't remain a  Commonwealth or something. There was a time that I was even ashamed to ...

The Champ (1931) and The Champ (1979)

Image
When I watched THE CHAMP(1979) several times in the 1980s, I did not know it was a remake.  Jon Voight, Faye Dunaway and Ricky Schroeder acted  as if the roles were tailor made for them.  In a way, the roles were indeed tailor made for them.  Billy (Jon Voight) used to be a great boxer, but he's settled into a hardscrabble life that revolves around drinking, training horses, and the one bright spot in his existence -- his young son, T.J. (Ricky Schroder). Although Billy has had custody of T.J. since his wife, Annie (Faye Dunaway), left the family years ago, her return prompts a new struggle for the former fighter. Determined to hold on to T.J., Billy gets back into the ring to try and recapture his past success.-WWW Director:   Franco Zeffirelli Writers:   Frances Marion  (story),  Walter Newman Stars:   Jon Voight ,  Faye Dunaway ,  Ricky Schroder Last night, when we got tired of a certain show, mom said, "Let's...

Frank Martin is living a less perilous lifestyle, or so he thinks, transporting classified packages for questionable people. Things get complicated when femme fatale Anna and her three accomplices orchestrate a bank heist and the kidnapping of Frank's father. It's all part of a grand plan to take down the human trafficker who victimized her years earlier. Now a pawn in her vengeful scheme, the former special-operations mercenary must use his covert skills to play Anna's dangerous game. -WWW Stockholm syndrome , or capture-bonding, is a psychological phenomenon in which hostages express empathy and sympathy and have positive feelings toward their captors, sometimes to the point of defending and identifying with the captors. 3/5 stars Written by men:    Luc Besson Bill Collage Adam Cooper Directed by a  woman:  Camille Delamarre Based on the characters created  by Luc Besson and  Robert Mark Kamen Would my movie buddy, R...

The trio was brought to Curve’s attention by OPM icon Gary Granada. Back story(?)  My brother, Karl, and I were really interested in watching this since we've seen them being interviewed at The Ryzza Mae show and Aquino & Abunda Tonight .  Though we seldom agree, Karl and I love each other.  Most of the time we get into each other's hair, but I'm glad we both like the group called TRES MARIAS. Even if we wanted to watch it, we did not dare buy tickets because the concert's date was the 4th of September, my parents 49th Church Wedding Anniversary(their 50th Civil wedding anniversary is on the 19th of November this year).  Nev...

EX with BENEFITS (2015) R-13

Image
How do I describe this movie without giving spoilers?  Hmm.  Let me think.  Ah, I think I know how.  Directed by Gino M. Santos Written by Jeff Stelton and Keiko Aquino Loosely based on or inspired by the  Wattpad   sensation by  youramnesiagirl  of the same title, is a story of finding your self worth and about living.  It's also about relationships not of the romantic kind and about responsibility.  This movie is NOT all about sex.  There's more to it than that .  It also doesn't stereotype med reps and doctors. Things like these  happen whatever profession or non-profession you are in, and even if there are people like that  in real life, we must believe that there are more people who live life with integrity(listen to Carmi Martin's lines somewhere in the movie), so please don't be scared to watch this. This movie is about loving, losing, sacrificing, being selfless et cetera, et ce...
